Mike Tamaru
Managing Partner
cfo-coo to technology companies
I have led teams at technology companies in the Consumer, Enterprise and Industrial segments. These include crowd-funded and seed-funded startups, growth companies that include Jawbone and Tonal, and multinationals such as Cisco Systems and Philips Electronics.

My fractional CFO focus is on startups in the Seed through Series A round financing stages, and later stage companies in a turnaround situation. My specialty is strategic, finance and operations support for connected hardware companies (physical product component + Software/AI + Subscription and Service offering)

I help these companies with building infrastructure to scale for global growth, raising equity and debt, driving M&A activity, managing business planning, supporting implementation of supply chains and contract manufacturing relationships, implementing go-to-market plans, implementing G&A systems and processes, and acquisition integration.

My clients include scale-ups and turnarounds in the AI/Crypto Semiconductors, Robotics, Wearable Tech, IoT, Enterprise Computing and Connected Home segments. In addition, I support strategic acquirers, venture funds and other investors in these segments with strategy and due diligence. Across my career in high technology, I've been employed by or consulted to over 40 tech companies, most of them in the connected hardware space. As a result, I have exceptionally broad and deep domain expertise in connected hardware, which is unparalleled in the Silicon Valley.

I received my Bachelor degree from UC Berkeley, an MBA from the University of Chicago and I hold the CPA certification (inactive status).
